Connect a Viber bot account and every message it receives lands in Vera.Support, where your team and the AI chatbot can reply.

Some customers would rather message you on Viber than fill in a form or send an email. This guide is for you if you already have a Viber presence, or want one, and would prefer to handle those chats in the same place as everything else.

Step by step

Activate the Viber app

Open Settings > Apps and activate Viber. This adds the Viber area to your settings, which is where the connection is made.

Create your bot account

Go to the Viber partners site and create a bot account there. Viber issues a token for that bot account — copy it.

Paste the token and synchronise

Enter the token at Settings > Viber > Token, then click Synchronize now. Your site must be served over HTTPS for the connection to work.

Good to know

HTTPS is required

The Viber connection needs your site on HTTPS. If you are not on a secure certificate yet, sort that out before you synchronise.

Rich messages may be trimmed

Rich messages are converted for Viber where a conversion exists. Where one does not, the element is removed and the rest of the message still goes out.

The follow-up message always sends

On Viber the follow-up message goes out in every case. Keep that in mind if you have it switched on.

The offline message drops the timetable

The offline message works on Viber, but your office-hours timetable is not included in it.

Viber conversations work with queue and routing, the chatbot and human takeover, plus language detection, spelling correction, multilingual via translation and Google search.
